Hey. My name is Poppy and I’ve decided to start a blog. I’ve been thinking about this idea for a while, and although it’s very possible that my recent rewatching of Gossip Girl has pushed the idea into reality, it feels right.

I always felt I missed out on the whole Twitter (now X) thing - although I will say I had a pretty decent Tumblr following back in my teenage years. Blogs definitely haven’t been cool for a decade, but I can’t seem to get the Tiktok or Instagram thing right, so why not give this a go.

I have loved writing for as long as I can remember, and unfortunately don’t seem to do that much of it these days, so although it’s very unlikely anyone will read this, I’m hoping it will get me back into writing more officially. I journal almost every day – sometimes manifesting but mostly very useless thoughts and feelings scribbled down as my attempt to process them (I’ve never been very good at telling people how I feel). And I used to write a lot of poetry too, but lately I think I’ve just been lacking creativity.

There currently isn’t a precise idea of what these posts are going to be about, but probably some sewing/crochet ones, some travel, poetry, and likely a lot of gibberish thoughts that no one is interested in, in the hopes that this may bring some traffic to my website.

The Poppy May Collective website was launched almost a year ago, and I can’t say I’ve made a lot of sales unfortunately; likely because I am terrible at self-promotion, so no one seems to know that it exists. But this is really what I want to do, and I believe with consistency and dedication, it just might work. I believe in my products and myself.

So who knows what will come of this, but for now I’m excited.
